Senior Land Management / Rangeland Expert


NTU International is preparing a proposal for the EU-funded project “EU Assistance for the Uzbekistan AgriFood Development Strategy 2020–2030 ”, which aims to support the Government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of a sustainable, market-oriented, inclusive and climate-smart agri-food system. The project focuses on strengthening policy and regulatory frameworks, institutional capacities, and public sector governance in support of the Agri-Food Development Strategy 2020–2030.

The Technical Assistance will support sustainable land management, soil conservation, pasture management, and climate-resilient agricultural practices aimed at improving environmental sustainability and resilience in Uzbekistan’s rural areas.

NTU International is seeking a Senior Land Management / Rangeland Expert to support sustainable land management systems, rangeland governance, and natural resource management initiatives related to the agri-food sector in Uzbekistan.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and implementation of sustainable land management and rangeland management strategies;
  • Provide technical assistance on soil conservation, pasture management, land restoration, and sustainable agricultural land use practices;
  • Conduct assessments related to land degradation, desertification, soil fertility, and rangeland conditions;
  • Support development of land management frameworks, operational guidelines, and resource management plans;
  • Advise Ministries and public institutions on sustainable land governance, ecosystem management, and climate-resilient agricultural practices;
  • Promote integration of biodiversity protection, climate adaptation, and sustainable natural resource management into agricultural systems;
  • Contribute to preparation of technical studies, land management assessments, policy recommendations, and restoration strategies;
  • Coordinate with Ministries, environmental agencies, research institutions, farmers’ organisations, and development partners;
  • Deliver workshops, technical training, and capacity-building activities related to land management and rangeland governance;
  • Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of land restoration and natural resource management initiatives.


Education

  • Master’s degree in land management, agronomy, environmental sciences, natural resource management, rangeland management, or another relevant field.


General Professional Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in land management, rangeland management, natural resource management, or environmental sustainability;
  • Proven experience working on agricultural, environmental, or rural development projects in developing or transition economies;
  • Experience in international development cooperation and donor-funded programmes.


Specific Professional Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in sustainable land management, rangeland governance, or ecosystem restoration initiatives;
  • Demonstrated experience with pasture management systems, soil conservation, land rehabilitation, or climate-resilient land use practices;
  • Experience related to desertification control, watershed management, biodiversity conservation, or sustainable agriculture is considered an advantage;
  • Experience supporting projects financed by the EU, World Bank, IFAD, FAO, UNDP, GEF, ADB, or other international financial institutions is considered a strong asset;
  • Experience working with Ministries, environmental agencies, land management authorities, or research institutions is considered an advantage;
  • Experience in Central Asia, Eastern Europe, or post-Soviet countries is considered an asset.


Languages

  • English (C1 mandatory);
  • Working knowledge of Russian is considered a strong asset.

Senior Agri-Food Logistics / Cold Chain Expert


NTU International is preparing a proposal for the EU-funded project “EU Assistance for the Uzbekistan AgriFood Development Strategy 2020–2030 ”, which aims to support the Government of Uzbekistan in the implementation of a sustainable, market-oriented, inclusive and climate-smart agri-food system. The project focuses on strengthening policy and regulatory frameworks, institutional capacities, and public sector governance in support of the Agri-Food Development Strategy 2020–2030.

The Technical Assistance will support improvement of agri-food logistics systems, post-harvest management, cold chain infrastructure, and market connectivity in order to strengthen agricultural competitiveness and reduce food losses across Uzbekistan.

NTU International is seeking a Senior Agri-Food Logistics / Cold Chain Expert to support logistics modernisation, cold chain development, and post-harvest management initiatives related to the agri-food sector in Uzbekistan.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and modernisation of agri-food logistics and cold chain systems;
  • Provide technical assistance on post-harvest management, storage systems, refrigerated transport, and supply chain optimisation;
  • Conduct assessments related to logistics infrastructure, warehouse systems, cold storage facilities, and market connectivity;
  • Support development of cold chain investment plans, logistics strategies, and operational improvement frameworks;
  • Advise public institutions and private stakeholders on logistics efficiency, food quality preservation, and export-oriented supply chains;
  • Promote integration of sustainability, energy efficiency, digital tracking systems, and climate-smart approaches into logistics systems;
  • Contribute to preparation of logistics assessments, technical studies, operational guidelines, and policy recommendations;
  • Coordinate with Ministries, logistics operators, agribusinesses, producer organisations, exporters, and development partners;
  • Deliver workshops, technical training, and capacity-building activities related to agri-food logistics and cold chain management;
  • Contribute to monitoring, reporting, and evaluation of logistics and supply chain development initiatives.


Education

  • Master’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, agricultural engineering, agribusiness, food systems, or another relevant field.


General Professional Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in logistics, cold chain systems, supply chain management, or agri-food infrastructure;
  • Proven experience working on agricultural, logistics, or market development projects in developing or transition economies;
  • Experience in international development cooperation and donor-funded programmes.

The Technical Assistance will support strategic planning, climate resilience, and sustainable resource management approaches related to agriculture and water systems, including long-term foresight and scenario-based policy planning.

NTU International is seeking a Senior Water–Agriculture Foresight Expert to support integrated water-agriculture planning, foresight analysis, and long-term resilience strategies related to sustainable agri-food development in Uzbekistan.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of foresight analyses and long-term planning frameworks related to water and agriculture systems;
  • Provide technical assistance on integrated water resource management and sustainable agricultural water use;
  • Conduct scenario analyses, climate impact assessments, and strategic modelling related to agricultural production and water availability;
  • Support development of evidence-based strategies for drought resilience, irrigation efficiency, and sustainable resource allocation;
  • Advise Ministries and public institutions on water-agriculture nexus policies, resilience planning, and future risk management approaches;
  • Support integration of climate adaptation, food security, and resource sustainability considerations into sector planning processes;

The Technical Assistance will support institutional capacity building for veterinary services and laboratory systems, including compliance with international SPS standards, quality management systems, export certification procedures, and laboratory accreditation frameworks.

NTU International is seeking a Senior Veterinary and Laboratory Accreditation Expert to support veterinary governance systems, laboratory accreditation, SPS compliance, and institutional quality assurance initiatives in Uzbekistan.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support strengthening of veterinary services, animal health systems, and laboratory accreditation frameworks;
  • Provide technical assistance on veterinary governance, SPS compliance, export certification systems, and laboratory quality management;
  • Support development and implementation of laboratory accreditation systems aligned with international standards and ISO requirements;
  • Advise veterinary and laboratory institutions on inspection procedures, quality assurance systems, and institutional reforms;
  • Support strengthening of diagnostic capacities, testing systems, and veterinary surveillance mechanisms;

NTU International is seeking a Senior Legal / Regulatory Reform Expert to support legal approximation, regulatory reform, and institutional governance initiatives related to Uzbekistan’s agri-food sector reforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the review, drafting, and reform of agri-food sector legislation, regulations, and institutional frameworks;
  • Provide technical assistance on food safety legislation, land use rights, agricultural subsidy regulations, and agricultural financing frameworks;
  • Support regulatory impact assessments, comparative legal analyses, and legal harmonisation initiatives;
