About the Role
We are seeking an outstanding full-time Senior Scientific Editor to join the Cell Genomics team. We welcome applications from candidates with deep expertise in any area covered by the journal. Ideally, candidates will bring substantial editorial experience, a broad enthusiasm for science, and a strong interest in engaging with important advances across genetics and genomics. This is a full-time editorial position based in the United Kingdom, Spain, China or the Netherlands. Cell Genomics is a journal from Cell Press dedicated to publishing impactful studies across the breadth of genomics research, including work that advances understanding of genome function, the relationship between genotype and phenotype, computational and experimental methods, and related policy issues. As the journal continues to grow, this is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic editorial team and help define the scientific conversations that will shape the future of the field.
As a member of the Cell Genomics editorial team, you would play a central role in identifying and developing exciting science for publication. Responsibilities include recruiting strong submissions, evaluating research manuscripts, selecting expert referees, identifying timely emerging areas for commissioned content, and working closely with authors throughout the review process. The role also includes writing and editing content for the journal's website and social media channels, contributing to journal strategy, and representing genomics publishing across Cell Press.
This position offers the opportunity to engage closely with the global scientific community through travel and virtual visits to conferences and research institutions. You will meet leading researchers, learn about important new directions in the field, present the journal to diverse audiences, and bring those insights back to help inform editorial and strategic decisions. Responsibilities
+ Evaluating submissions rigorously against the journals' requirements. 
+ Support a culture of collaboration, creativity, and high standards. Your contribution will help a great team to reach new heights in serving the community. 
+ Building global networks and commissioning exciting papers within the scope of the journal (including insightful front matter articles). 
+ Working closely with the Cell Press editorial family, the production and operation team, as well as the business development and marketing team to support cross-journal initiatives and share best practices. Together, we serve the community better. 
+ Representing Cell Genomics and Cell Press at conferences and public forums, showcasing the journal's impact and engaging with the broader scientific community. Your passion will inspire researchers and enable us to serve their needs. 
+ Traveling to participate in domestic & international conferences and visiting research institutes to engage with researchers. 
+ Collaborating with editorial teams of relevant Cell Press journals. 
Requirements
+ A Ph.D. in any area related to the topics that Cell Genomics covers
+ At least 5 years of editorial experience
+ Ability to think critically about a wide range of scientific issues
+ Interest in engaging with the scientific community
+ Talent for distilling complex concepts and communicating them
+ Strong teamwork skills and a collaborative problem-solving mindset
+ Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance a range of priorities to achieve overall team goals

About the Role
As an In-House Senior Editor for eBioMedicine, you will oversee the peer-review and publication of original content. Responsibilities

About the RoleIn this role, you will support the successful execution of new and renewal sales deals across an assigned territory. Responsibilities
+ Monitor and support the execution of new and renewal deals to ensure alignment with internal milestones and timelines

+ Engage with customers, particularly on contested renewals and title changes, to ensure a responsive and informed experience

+ Maintain accurate records of deal terms, approvals, exceptions, and regional process documentation

Requirements
+ 3+ years' experience in sales operations, deal desk, account coordination, customer support, or a similar commercial/administrative role.
+ Fluency in English, and French or Italian
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
+ Strong understanding of deal structuring, pricing models, discounting, and commercial approval workflows.
+ Confidence working with contracts, redlining, legal/commercial terms, and supporting documentation.
+ Knowledge of purchase order (PO) and invoicing processes.
+ Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
+ Ability to work effectively across functions and influence stakeholders without direct authority.

+ Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.

+ Arranging peer-review and commissioning content to ensure the successful and timely publication of high-quality translational research;
+ Staying up to date with the latest literature and research developments;
+ Engaging in conferences and academic meetings, along with site visits to develop and maintain links with the international research community;
+ Writing editorials, commissioning reviews and commentaries and publishing correspondence to build the journal's profile among the communities we serve;

Requirements
+ Higher degree in a relevant discipline with postdoctoral research experience or previous editorial experience;
+ Ability to communicate fairly and constructively with members of the translational research community;

+ Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging manner;

Content Strategist - Digital Solutions
Life at Elsevier Spain is about helping doctors, nurses, healthcare managers and researchers, as well as students and education professionals in the Health Sciences, achieve their objectives with the final aim of improving patient outcomes, today and in the future.
In this position, you will work on strategic planning, acquisition, and development of high-quality digital content, to make it available to the relevant communities on any possible platform, device or support (electronic clinical decision support tools, electronic clinical reference solutions, study and teaching tools, e-books, apps, etc.) to cover a variety of use cases (learn, teach, prepare for exams, research, manage, make decisions at the point of care, etc.) always based on the best scientific evidence.
Responsibilities
Acquiring and developing content
+ Reporting directly to the Content Director Spanish and Portuguese Language (under Global Content Partners) and indirectly to other relevant managers/stakeholders;
+ Being the contact person for authors, partners, Subject Matter Experts and institutions linked to business opportunities or ongoing projects, in relation to Content;
+ Recruiting specialists (Subject Matter Experts) to help create/adapt content and products to local clinical practice or academic settings, increasing their value;
+ Negotiating contracts with authors, reviewers, contributors and vendors;
+ P reparing e-content publishing proposals and negotiating their approval with involved stakeholders;
+ Promoting and expanding our portfolio of content and products in the clinical or educational fields, seeking innovation and adaptation to new market demands;
+ Expanding and strengthening the network of contacts with key opinion leaders and key institutions for Elsevier;
+ Managing conent budgets and cost control for the products under your responsibility;
+ Reporting on Content delivery, locally and globally;
+ Contributing to Global projects involving new Content developments, best practice sharing, etc.
Implementing the Strategy of Business Units
+ Collaborating with the management of the Clinical Solutions and Education Business Units, the product and sales teams, the international and local Operations, Marketing, Product, Sales, User Experience, Account Development, Product Squads, etc. towards the implementation of the established strategies, from the Content perspective;
+ Coordinating and collaborating with other members of the Content team in projects that require an interdisciplinary and global-local approach;
+ Modulating and adapting the strategy to achieve the growth objectives established;
+ Leading or contributing to global projects around new product discovery, launches, best practice sharing, advising, etc.;
+ Coordinating market research initiatives to determine user needs (both individual and institutional) and identifying changes in those needs;
+ Monitoring market trends and new business opportunities based on actionable content;
+ Ensuring that the data generated by Content is properly recorded in the relevant company systems (Content Management systems, Finance systems, etc.).;
+ Leading or contributing to User Testing, Customer Testing, Product testing initiatives.
Requirements
+ Higher university education in the field of Health Sciences (Nursing or Medicine), Languages or Communication (Linguistics, Translation, Modern Languages, Humanities, Philology, Journalism, etc.).
+ Postgraduate studies in Project Management, Artificial Intelligence applied to Content, Healthcare specialization, Scientific Communication, Publishing, Market Research, UX/UI research will be positively valued;
+ Experience in clinical practice;
+ Experience in projects involving the acquisition, development and management of digital content related to the health sciences;
+ Experience creating, managing or contributing to a wide network of senior and junior clinical SMEs in all specialties.
+ Familiarity with evidence-based clinical practice and critical literature appraisal.
Additionally, we will value
+ Familiarity with AI technologies and markup languages --xml, html, etc. at user level;
+ Familiarity with knowledge representation (healthcare taxonomies, large language models, etc.).Experience in quantitative and/or qualitative research / UX.
