Our team is seeking a Global Contract Manager located in a European time zone (with excellent English and Spanish language skills) who will join the Global Contracting team to contribute to the success of the Global Contracting function.

To support Energy Systems in realizing its strategic ambitions, we have a Global Contracting team with specialized contract management roles and advanced legal & contractual competence. In this team we have highly qualified Contracting professionals who are intensively partnering with the business to create customer success. The Global Contract Manager (CM) is part of a Global Contracting team and reports to one of four Team Leaders Global Contracting.

The contract management function is a centrally organized risk management function, and provides specialized legal advice on contracts related to the delivery of our projects/ services. In this role you provide the formal legal review and risk analysis of customer contracts and advise the bid manager/KAM as well as other levels of Energy Systems management during the decision-making process. You ensure that contracts are aligned with the strategic earning ambitions for each customer / segment as well as the overall strategy expectations for Energy Systems with regards to growth, earnings and cash flow. You serve as point of contact for legal/contracts counterparts in customer organisations, ensure efficient internal collaboration and interface management. Global Contracting is part of the Finance & Performance function (F&P) and works closely with our Regions and global Business Units.

Primary tasks of this role:

  • Represents Energy Systems in reviewing, amending and negotiating a variety of contracts, forms or agreements with customers.
  • Supports the contracting process and contract management.
  • Assesses project risks, actively engages in the risk review process for projects, and collaborate with the business on strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Provides advice on legal and commercial contract-related matters as well as on matters pertaining to other functional responsibilities of the Global Contracting team.
  • Advocates and ensures compliance with DNV processes, policies, guidelines and values.
  • Provides training on legal/ contract management issues and risks within the functional scope of the Global Contracting team.
  • Takes an active role in identifying potential process improvements and supports the implementation of internal improvement projects.
  • Delivers a competent and high-quality product, that demonstrates a customer centric approach (both towards internal and external customers), and that provides commercially focused advice and solutions.

  • Bachelor degree in law or equivalent.
  • More than 5 years of relevant work experience as a legal professional or contract manager.
  • Experience interacting with international stakeholders at all levels.
  • Solid legal skills in commercial/transactional context, including reviewing and drafting contracts and negotiating directly with external parties.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating Energy/O&G/IT/Software/SaaS contracts is preferable.
  • Comfortable working as part of a global and multi-cultural team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex projects.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of common programs such as Microsoft Office.
  • Capability of professionally managing confidential information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English; additional skills in another language is also preferable.
