As an Area Manager, you'll make sure your site is running as smoothly as it should so that we can meet customer demand. You will be leading a team that helps keep our operations safe, efficient, and of a high quality and taking on a number of projects across our network to drive productivity.

Basic Qualifications
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis, or experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance)
- Experience driving projects to improve support-related processes and technical support
- Experience running an effective operational excellence program
- Experience coordinating between technical teams, peers and business stakeholders
- Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree within last 12 months in Engineering, Technology, Science, Operations Research, Robotics, Mathematics, or related fields, or a Master's degree and experience working for Amazon or any Amazon subsidiary or affiliate
- Experience in logistics
- Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and/or SQL in a professional environment

Purpose of job
Amazon is seeking an experienced Base Build Maintenance (BBM) Manager to lead our maintenance operations team within AMOC (Amazon Maintenance Operation Center) This pivotal role will orchestrate maintenance activities across our worldwide portfolio of buildings and cold rooms from our central operations center, focusing on monitoring and predicting performance issues while planning maintenance activities and reacting to customer issues. The successful candidate will drive the BBM business strategy, lead a team of specialists, and drive continuous improvement in our processes.
Key job responsibilities
- Support the development and own the BBM and Refrigeration business strategies, setting a vision, roles and responsibilities, and clear goals for the team.
- Recruit, build, inspire, and motivate a team of escalation specialists, Refrigeration Specialist's, schedulers, and junior managers operating across multiple time zones.
- Implement Amazon people process ensuring development and professional growth for all team members
- Lead a robust meeting structure including daily stand-ups, shift handovers, and weekly business reviews to ensure seamless operational coverage, drive team alignment, and maintain high-energy performance across all time zones
- Serve as the main point of escalation for complex mechanical and refrigeration issues, facilitating cross-functional meetings and making key decisions.
- Establish and oversee ticket management processes, including SLA compliance monitoring, queue management, and escalation protocols
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and implementing standardized solutions across regions
- Design and optimize end-to-end digital maintenance systems for remote monitoring of building infrastructure and cold rooms, including standardized workflows, documentation procedures, compliance tracking, and performance metrics
- Collaborate with category procurement and stakeholders to ensure productive contracts and SLAs are in place with vendors
- Develop and track KPIs specific to remote maintenance operations effectiveness
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in Engineering (any domain), Operations, Business Administration, or a related field
- Experience in facilities management
- Knowledge of generic mechanical room infrastructure such as chillers, cooler units, and fan controls
- Experience leading teams
- Experience in stakeholder management and communication management
Preferred Qualifications
- Refrigeration Trade School certificate
- Professional Engineering registration, or experience in facilities management, office management, corporate administrative services, or hospitality management
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent, or a GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or Security+ and experience applying machine learning algorithms to find business-critical patterns in operational data

Are you experienced in Critical Infrastructure Commissioning Processes? Amazon Data Center Capacity Delivery Commissioning (DCCD Cx) is looking for an exceptional individual to join our Commissioning organization as the Spain (ESP) Commissioning Manager. As a sub-regional Commissioning Manager, you will manage a fast-moving, intelligent team of commissioning professionals delivering data center capacity to support Amazon's. and equipment quality in accordance with engineering design specifications. Working backwards from our customers, we innovate and are committed to deliver customer satisfaction.
Key job responsibilities
The responsibilities of the ESP Commissioning Manager include owning the challenges in ensuring the quality and reliability of electrical and mechanical systems for our customers. You will think broadly and strategically in setting visions and prioritizing the commissioning program aligned with goals of the larger organization. You lead a team of commissioning engineers, with broad responsibilities to hire, build a high-performing team and lead the safety culture by example. Utilizing industrial standards and company goals, you develop and manage quality-focused initiatives, manage and analyze metrics to drive innovation and continuous improvements. You communicate and provide guidance to Finance during capital budgeting, making data-driven decisions to deliver predictable cost estimations. You create standards and build consensus with a broad spectrum of stakeholders on cross-functional teams that will operate to deliver on the quality policy.
In this role, you will have an EMEA and global presence, which will include 20% traveling to sites located in-country, across EMEA and globally. As a leader, you provide clear communication and vision for the business. You own a systemized commissioning approach and are accountable for your team's compliance with commissioning procedures, quality, environmental, safety practices, policies, and procedures. You will also participate in all projects and company safety programs. You report to the EMEA Commissioning Sr. Manager, and you develop metrics to ensure compliance with business requirements and safety. You are accountable for weekly reporting of commissioning progress and metrics for your team's projects. You communicate clearly both verbally and written, leveraging interpersonal skills to effectively coordinate with stakeholders, using data to justify conclusions when dealing with ambiguity. You dig deep to develop creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs and duration with no impact to quality and reliability. You will work in a high-velocity environment, on multiple strategic initiatives, and maintain a high-performing team simultaneously under tight deadlines and according to prescribed metrics.
Systemize Execution:
Identify key value drivers that contribute to commissioning successes and determine their effectiveness through the development of metrics.
Define the organizational structure to meet short-term and long-range business requirements.
Develop an inspection and reporting structure to audit and maintain commissioning programs and business requirements.
Conduct in-depth data analysis to develop cross-functional mechanisms to improve overall organizational metrics using knowledge, experience, and innovation.
Lead the development of process improvement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Systemize Optimization:
Identify improvement opportunities, fix broken processes, convert proven concepts into mechanisms, and iterate existing mechanisms to improve metrics.
Develop metrics that measure the performance of commissioning key value drivers and stress-test the effectiveness of existing mechanisms.
Establish a cadence to inspect performances, ensure compliance, provide insights to improve metrics, and track them to success.
Communicate clearly the areas of improvement and reinforcement to develop an improvement and scaling plan.
Project and Business Management:
Leads the team with creativity to overcome obstacles and drives further escalation to overcome obstacles when stuck.
Leads performance management of the team and vendors.
Leads capital budget and organizational planning.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or an equivalent engineering science
- Experience in industrial or commercial engineering or project management in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, or oil/gas facilities
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years' experience in people management: hiring; organizational planning; building a team; performance management; mentoring; coaching.
- 5+ years' experience in delivering mission critical/complex infrastructures in either mechanical/electrical/controls systems

When you join Amazon as an Area/Shift Manager, you'll gain experience leading a large and diverse team to make sure your area of the business keeps pace with demand. In this hands-on role, you'll learn about the complexity of operations at a global business and what it takes to make everything run seamlessly. While you implement your team's approach to drive productivity, you'll also work closely with your colleagues to address challenges, which means no two days will be the same.

- Support and lead a team and handle administrative work alongside building and supporting a strong team culture

- Collaborate with other managers to standardise shift processes
A day in the life
You'll work shifts and be based at one of our operational sites. Your main focus will be to maintain safety standards within your team and across your site. You'll also monitor and maintain process efficiency. Your days will always include prioritising routine team management and daily operational tasks, alongside other tasks like individual escalations, process improvement work and wide-scale operational contingency planning.
Being a key part of the operations team involves working with colleagues in other teams and external partners to make sure we stay on track to meet our customer demands and targets. This will involve analysing data and performance metrics with leaders in your business area, as well as discussing the operational pros and cons of technical improvements with engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- Completed University degree before the start date OR graduated within the last 24 months
- Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English and local language
- Relevant experience in performing data analysis
