HR Lead-Barcelona (MUST BE SPANISH SPEAKING)
The HR Lead is responsible for overseeing labor cost management, leading HR operations across corporate offices and bookstores, driving organizational development initiatives, talent acquisition and development, and managing compensation and benefits programs.
The role reports directly to the CEO Spain and functionally to the Group Chief Human Resources & Organization Officer. The primary objective is to ensure the organization has the capabilities and talent required to achieve its strategic objectives while promoting operational efficiency, employee engagement, and a collaborative working environment.
1. People Management
- Lead all employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Support and advise managers on employee relations and people management matters.
- Develop and implement talent retention strategies to minimize attrition.
2. HR Reporting & Workforce Analytics
- Partner with Finance to monitor labor costs, workforce metrics, attendance, and HR KPIs.
- Collaborate with Group HR Analytics to provide accurate workforce data and support strategic decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to optimize workforce-related costs and processes.
3. Industrial & Employee Relations
- Manage relationships with trade unions and employee representatives.
- Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and ensure compliance with labor legislation and company agreements.
- Foster constructive dialogue with employee representative bodies.
4. Talent Development & Succession Planning
- Design and implement learning and development initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Identify high-potential talent and create succession plans for key positions.
- Coordinate training, coaching, and mentoring programs.
5. Talent Acquisition
- Partner with business leaders to define recruitment requirements and hiring strategies.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes across all functions.
- Develop employer branding initiatives and innovative sourcing strategies.
6. Performance Management
- Manage the performance management cycle aligned with Group policies and objectives.
- Support managers in setting performance goals and development plans.
7. Compensation & Benefits
- Implement competitive compensation and benefits programs aligned with Group guidelines.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and support incentive plan design.
8. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Lead employee engagement surveys and focus groups.
- Develop initiatives to improve employee well-being and workplace satisfaction.
- Promote work-life balance and strengthen organizational culture.
9. HR Administration & Labor Compliance
- Oversee attendance, leave management, sickness absence, maternity leave, and related processes.
- Ensure employee records and HR systems remain accurate and up to date.
- Manage employment contracts and ensure compliance with labor legislation.
10. Employment Litigation
- Coordinate employment-related disputes with external legal counsel.
- Manage disciplinary procedures and individual employee cases.
- Assess and mitigate legal risks through proactive HR practices.
