About The Role
As a Lead iOS Engineer at The Bump you’ll drive the development and maintenance of our popular and content-rich iOS app that serves complex and engaging features and digital tools for The Bump’s thriving community of users. Reporting to the App Engineering Manager, you’ll help define the future of The Bump’s native app experiences and help lift the product, platform and app team to meet our awesome long-term ambitions.
You will be responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining our iOS app, collaborating with cross-functional teams to engineer and deliver high quality mobile solutions that provide an exceptional user experience. You will bring a resolute, detail-oriented spirit to the team, following best practice and working with your manager and QA teams to optimize app performance and strive for exceptional code quality.
As a Lead Engineer, you will own and champion key technical projects and initiatives, working closely with Product and Design colleagues on exciting new features that will delight users and deliver on our business objectives. Experience leading teams
Our iOS app is written in Swift, with some legacy Objective-C, using MVVM+C architecture, with development and distribution supported by our CI/CD stack (Fastlane + Bitrise).
Role Responsibilities
Own & deliver feature complete, well-tested, maintainable code following design guidelines and best practices Providing first-class guidance and stewardship when reviewing code from other engineers on the team to provide feedback Defining and championing best practices for the team and the organization Actively participate in the ideation and execution of product roadmap Work closely with business stakeholders to deliver value to users Lead and facilitate decision making during technical meetings Ensure technical KPIs around application maintenance, performance and resiliency are met Drive technical roadmap, contribute to the development of codebase and infrastructure Promote best practices and ensure the continuous improvement of engineering and product processes Manage releases to production ensuring QA and stakeholders are all aligned as necessary Participate in the technical organization outside of our squad in making company-wide architecture, data, and code pattern decisions Communicate and align with other squads inside of our organization who work on other parts of our applications Work closely with remote and international teams
Successful Candidates Will Have
At least 7 years of experience working as an iOS Engineer with experience in Swift and Objective-C, with at least 2 years as a Lead Engineer. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Team leadership experience in delivering & deploying complex iOS projects A confident grasp of software engineering principles and design, testing and experience with different mobile architectures Proficiency with CI/CD processes for mobile (we use Bitrise and Fastlane) Excellent English communication skills

About The Role
