¿Cuáles serán tus funciones?
- Migrar bases de datos a gran escala de Oracle a AWS RDS PostgreSQL.
- Colaborar con los desarrolladores para analizar y mejorar el rendimiento de las consultas y la base de datos.
- Identificar e implementar mejoras en la estructura de la base de datos para lograr eficiencia y escalabilidad.
- Optimizar las estrategias de acceso a los datos para minimizar la cantidad de consultas ejecutadas por la aplicación.
- Resolver problemas de rendimiento relacionados con Hibernate y frameworks ORM.
¿Qué buscamos?
- Al menos 7 años de experiencia con PostgreSQL y Oracle.
- Experiencia con migraciones, backup y recuperación de BBDD.
- Altos conocimientos de SQL y optimización de query.
- Experiencia con Hibernate , Liquibase y Flyway.
- Familiaridad con AWS RDS y entornos cloud .
- Nivel alto de inglés.

We are looking for a Database Administrator (DBA) who will be responsible for maintaining high-performance PostgreSQL databases and ensuring the overall reliability, availability, and scalability of our systems. This hybrid role combines deep database expertise with modern devops practices such as automation, observability, site reliability, and continuous improvement.
This position reports directly to the Solutions Engineering Manager , based in Madrid in a Hybrid work model.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain high-performance PostgreSQL databases.
- Work with R&D to optimize queries, indexing, partitioning, and caching strategies for scalability.
- Monitor database health, performance, and availability; proactively address issues.
- Manage backup, restore, replication, clustering, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with development teams to review schemas, queries, and migrations.
- Oversee daily database operations, ensuring data integrity, security, and uptime.
- Implement and maintain database security controls and access management.
- Prepare documentation and provide evidence for internal and external audits.
- Establish and maintain database policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay up to date with PostgreSQL advancements and recommend improvements.
- Build and maintain observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting) to monitor databases and applications.
- Proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve performance and availability issues.
- Develop and maintain automation tools and scripts to reduce manual database operational tasks.
- Support capacity planning, performance testing, and scalability strategies for both database and applications.
- Collaborate with delivery and operations teams to improve system architecture for reliability.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase efficiency
What we expect from you
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Expertise in performance tuning, query optimization, and database architecture for high-traffic systems.
- Experience with replication, clustering, partitioning, and HA/DR solutions.
- Proficiency with monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., pg_stat_statements, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
- Solid knowledge of database security, compliance, and access control management.
- Solid knowledge of Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals.
- Proven skills in automation and scripting (Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar).
- Experience in incident management, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Familiarity with audit and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-hosted PostgreSQL (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL) is an advantage.
- Advanced certifications in databases, PostgreSQL, or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) are a plus.

About The Role
You're not just managing databases - you're protecting the backbone of every story. The Database Administrators team plays a crucial role in ensuring our operational data is always secure, resilient, and ready when it's needed most.
Key Results
- Ensure operational data is stored securely with zero critical audit findings.
- 95% of queries complete in under 3 seconds, ensuring fast and accurate user experience.
- Meet or exceed defined RPO and RTO objectives in disaster recovery scenarios.
Your responsibilities
Strategic Initiatives:
- Collaborate with SRE and security teams to enable engineering teams to ship and operate data-intensive applications quickly and with confidence, while ensuring compliance with best practices and regulations.
- Continuously monitor the performance, security, and financial sustainability of the platform.
- Automate toil and increase the amount of development teams' self-service, freeing up time to build a great service.
- Leverage AI/ML to improve anomaly detection, predictive capacity planning, and democratize access to service metrics (e.g., MCP servers).
Day-2 Operations:
Databases are maintained daily without service disruptions through (among others):
- Index maintenance
- Sharding
- Dynamic cluster scaling
- Query optimization
- Capacity management
- Backup and restore
About You
- A proactive attitude and a high sense of customer focus, accountability, and ownership.
Experience with the activities above for a fintech or a high-throughput environment:
SQL Server
- One or more of PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, and MongoDB
Advantageous
- Any Microsoft DP-300, DP-420, or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Experience with .NET 8 applications, in particular C#.
- DevSecOps practices and working knowledge of Terraform and Liquibase.

Tus principales responsabilidades serán:
