What do we do?As a GDS Specialist at Exotica’s Flight Operations team, you are responsible for helping our travel operations teams with daily tasks.
Responsibilities- Handle and support Travel Operations tasks (Flights changes, Cancellations request, Refunds process)
- Manage, escalate and follow-up of GDS issues and cases;
- Dealing with negotiated rates and advanced refunds in GDS;
- Working directly with our land suppliers for a pre & post-bookings requested;
- Fluent communication in English (additional language like French / Spanish are considered)
- Strong knowledge of Amadeus Flights / GDS
- Proven experience dealing with negotiate fares and commissions in GDS
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
- High flexibility and schedule adaptation: you will work in rotating schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- A minimum of 2 years experience in Customer support in the Travel industry, preferably including flights
- Proven record in fast-growing environments
- Adaptability, problem-solving and fast-learning attitude

About the RoleWe’re looking for a highly skilled in Amadeus GDS Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll apply your deep expertise in GDS systems to help us design, validate, and refine AI-powered tools that travel agents would to use.
You’ll collaborate closely with Product Managers and Engineers, playing a vital role in shaping the accuracy, reliability, and practicality of Acai’s travel solutions.
What You’ll Do at Acai GDS Product ExpertiseServe as the subject matter expert on Amadeus GDS system
Translate common workflows, commands, and booking, changes and cancellation scenarios into product insights.
Collaborate with engineers to align AI behavior with real-world GDS outputs
Review and validate AI-generated results related to ticketing, pricing, exchanges, and refunds
Identify logic errors, inconsistent results, and opportunities for improvement
Document and prioritize feedback for continuous refinement
Bring travel industry best practices and edge cases into product conversations
Educate internal teams on leisure and corporate travel nuances
Help create robust systems that mirror the day-to-day needs of OTAs and TMCs
Demonstrated expertise in Amadeus GDS , particularly cryptic mode
3+ years of experience at a travel agency, OTA, or TMC
Strong working knowledge of the end-to-end booking process, including refunds and exchanges
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
While you’re an expert in traditional travel tools, you’re genuinely excited about transitioning into the AI and tech industry
Knowledge of other GDS systems like Sabre or Travelport + (Galileo)
Familiarity with NDC workflows and content
Experience with CRM tools such as Zendesk, Genesys, or Kustomer
Exposure to both leisure and corporate travel
Previous experience in QA or AI product testing
Knowledge of Travelfusion or other aggregators

Amadeus appoints Carol Borg as new Chief Financial Officer
Amadeus has announced the appointment of Carol Borg as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective from 5 May.
Carol Borg, an Australian national, will assume her new role at the globally recognised travel technology company, following a notable career in senior financial positions across various sectors. She brings more than 30 years of experience and will be based in Madrid, Spain.
The appointment follows Borg's tenure at QinetiQ Group, a London-listed defence technology and security company where she held the position of Group CFO. In this capacity, she was responsible for all finance and governance activities, driving consistent revenue growth and overseeing significant acquisitions.
Borg's extensive career also includes her previous role as CFO at Lightsource BP in the UK, where she was instrumental in transforming the company's finance and governance processes. Her efforts contributed to the eventual acquisition of Lightsource BP by BP.
Reflecting on the appointment, Luis Maroto, President and CEO of Amadeus, said, "Carol's wide breadth of industry and organizational experience as a Group CFO was a real attraction to us : her multi-decade career reflects a strong commitment to innovation throughout, and to delivering and enabling transformation and change for technology-focused multinational organizations, often in complex financial environments.
