Job DescriptionWhat you get to do in this role:
The Engagement Manager oversees the on time, on budget delivery of the defined solution scope to meet the customer's desired results. This requires the EM to complete the project following ServiceNow's leading practice methodology, NowCreate, working in collaboration with the customer project team and any involved partner, ensuring governance is followed to gain team member support for the project, including risk and issue mitigation. The EM is also responsible for assembling and leading the ServiceNow resources on the project making sure they understand the planned tasks, tracking actual progress, and managing deviations through appropriate measures.
- Lead the delivery team throughout the engagement, often in collaboration with a services partner.
- Manage the engagement governance, timeline, scope, risk, change management, resourcing, reporting, and financials.
- Work with the Sales Account Team, partner, and customer to understand the customer and the engagement; including challenges, partners, issues, and value being delivered.
- Understand the goals and align the deliverables accordingly.
- Apply expertise from the Now Create methodology and prescriptive guidance to promote delivery of the engagement, including long-term customer success.
- Be the single contact to encourage collaboration and customer agreement on proposed solutions.
- Mentor Customer Outcomes or Partner team members to achieve the engagement's deliverables and promote the customer's desired results.
- Identify gaps between actuals and plan of record, proposing solutions, escalating as needed.
To be successful in this role you have:

- Onboarding Independent Software Vendors (ISV) into success, explaining the value proposition of the commercial marketplace, opportunities and setting up engagement expectations.

The Engagement Manager will be responsible for the project management function on multiple simultaneous customer-facing projects working throughout the project lifecycle, from presales to final delivery, to validate that each Esker solution is properly scoped, designed, implemented and tested to meet our client’s business needs.
Responsibilities- Engagement: Detailed planning and budgeting, work plan creation and execution, SOW development including client/project requirements, change request review, identifying new service opportunities and working with account managers to close business with existing clients, proactive team and resource coordination.
- Hands-on project guidance to ensure completion of assigned projects on schedule, and within budget and scope, ensure profitability of engagements.
- Working with Sales to optimize engagement profitability and value to Esker, alignment of interests between client and Esker, and risk identification and escalation.
- Delivery: Issue management and resolution, periodic project control and status reporting.
- Successful engagement delivery accountability, serve as the expert in developing Esker’s methodology and processes, enable the dissemination and assimilation of our Delivery standards and processes by leading by example, set and ensure quality standards for project deliverables.
- Determine what is a change request, when, how and if to implement, prioritize Engagement Management efforts and priorities, balance cross-project resourcing.
- Facilitate all project-related vendor relationships and coordinate and monitor accurate billing.
- Client Management: Client relationship and conflict resolution management, mentorship of project managers leading communication management between Esker and each client, making determinations as to what, when and how things are communicated.
- Acting as key point of contact and partner for each assigned client engagement, obtaining complete project sponsor buy-in, establishing rapport and confidence with clients, and coordinating and leading weekly status meetings.
- Consolidating project status into a single document and ensuring key questions are answered appropriately for the engagement.
- Business Development: Working with Sales to ensure projects are relevant, accurately estimated and prioritized during the proposal phase; working with Professional Services Management to establish and simplify Esker methodologies, processes and standards; collaborating with Country Manager, Sales, Professional Services Consultants, Team Leads, International Technical Support and Product management teams.
- 7+ years of Project Management experience managing multiple teams of resources
- Experience managing project budgets and invoices
- External client/customer consulting experience
- Strong background managing multiple simultaneous projects and detailed project plans
- Competency in project estimation techniques and SOW development
- Project management experience on mission-critical software development projects including full life cycle development is a plus
- Knowledge in contract management
- Demonstrable experience in presenting, selling, and implementing initiatives
- Good decision making skills as well as strong leadership
- Ability to maintain high levels of drive, proactivity and energy
- Strong communication/presentation skills to effectively interact with clients, including pre-sales and post-sales implementation

Your Role And Responsibilities
We are seeking highly organised individuals with business and technology consulting experience, combined with project management skills, to implement SaaS solutions for our customers. Engagement Managers own and lead customer engagements and function as integrator between business needs and technology solutions. - Develop effective and productive customer relationships that enable Apptio to become a trusted advisor for our customers’ IT executives.

- Guide the customer operationalise on delivered use cases
- Work with the product management and development organization to channel client feedback and solutions into future releases of the Apptio product suite.

Advocate
- Provide both engagement and TBM leadership to the customer.

- Contact Points between Client and Company: Maintaining Contact with Clients and Key Project Stakeholders.
