Function- As an Enterprise Risk Management specialist, you will be responsible for:
- Monitoring oversight over different safeguarding areas, Integrated Risk Control System (IRCS), and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM)/Outsourcing Function

- The ability to understand complex issues and communicate effectively to various audiences, including management
- Strong collaborative skills and experience working in virtual, international teams (international experience is a plus)
- Reliable, flexible, and precise working approach with a solution-oriented mindset

As "Risk Manager - Financial Risk Management", you will play a key role in shaping the key processes for managing SIX's financial risks. As part of the CRO organization and thus the "Second Line of Defense", you will further develop the monitoring and reporting of financial risks i.e. credit, market and liquidity risk management, thereby making a significant contribution to the stability and security of the Swiss financial market infrastructure. The size of the organization allows a high visibility and versatility of the role and contact with internal and external stakeholders and regulators.
What You Will Do- Ownership and elaboration of Financial Risk Management monitoring processes and reporting including reconciliation of regulatory relevant metrics, formalization of concepts and directives to ensure best market practice and regulatory compliance
- Due diligence and credit risk assessment of new client onboarding, including periodic assessment of credit worthiness, credit ratings and granting credit limits to banks and financial institutions as well as preparing credit decisions for higher authorities within SIX
- Constant monitoring of the counterparty portfolio across all business units and divisions of SIX to ensure prompt and appropriate response in case of stress events
- Preparation of ad hoc analyses, presentations of results for the decision-making bodies and supervisory authorities as well as leading smaller projects in the area of the financial risk management and in cooperation with the first line of defense (risk management operations, treasury, etc.)
- University degree in economics or equivalent preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
- Relevant work experience in the financial sector
- Reliable, quality-focused with strong attention to detail and ability to manage regular tasks independently and a preference for structured, tasks and a stable work environment
- English language skills in spoken and written, German is a valuable plus
- Familiarity with SQL, VBA, or R is advantageous but not required.

This Madrid-based Regulatory Manager position supports the Global Merchant Network Services (GMNS) continental Europe team and reports to the Business Enablement Director within the American Express Payments Europe, S.L (AEPE). The role focuses on Regulatory Change Management (RCM) tracking, development and governance, regulatory reporting obligations, first-line process and policy stewardship, and privacy risk management.
How you will make an impact in this role? The ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of risk management, the regulatory landscape in which American Express operates, and knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations. The role requires the ability to build strong working relationships and influence delivery and outcomes at multiple levels of the organisation. The position is part of the Business Enablement team and collaborates with Control Management, Operational Risk (GMNS Ops), Internal Audit Group, General Counsel Organization (GCO), and Compliance.
Responsibilities- Leadership of RCMs: assess operational impact, build action plans in alignment with compliance and risk advisory, own changes required.
- Internal reporting of RCMs: manage status reporting and provide updates to Control Management and other stakeholders.
- RCM Governance: coordinate governance structure for RCMs with Compliance and other stakeholders, escalate high risk/high complexity RCMs as needed.
- Analyze regulatory and legal implications for applicable mandates under RCMs and support business implementation.
- Regulatory reporting: support the regulatory reporting team and ensure readiness to respond to regulators’ requests in a timely manner; assist with cross-border report coordination.
- Privacy: lead first-line privacy implications, act as business representative in privacy projects, follow up on key privacy risks, and coordinate efforts from a Continental Europe perspective; support second-line risk management in privacy risk identification, escalation, and solution implementation.
- Policies reviews and refresh: lead the review of first-line policies and processes requiring business input, manage governance around policy refreshes, and ensure approvals are documented.
- University degree; legal background a plus.
- Minimum 8 years of experience designing and implementing regulatory change, including regulation analysis, risk assessment, policy/procedure design, and monitoring programs.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and privacy risk; strong understanding of AEPE’s regulatory environment and risk advisory practices.
- Attention to detail and rigor given regulatory complexities; ability to build relationships with a broad range of stakeholders; ability to challenge and make decisions independently when required.
- Proactive, business-oriented problem solving with accountability; ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to develop relationships with leaders, peers, and control/compliance teams; prior exposure to regulatory and policy compliance activities with a strong control mindset.
- Fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required; additional languages are a plus.
