Data Science (Intensive Care Unit / Shock, Organ Dysfunction and Resuscitation Group)
Join our team at Vall d’Hebron Institute of Research (VHIR)The Shock, Organ Dysfunction and Resuscitation group is a multidisciplinary research team focused on critically ill patients. We are offering a vacancy for an administrative position within the Intensive Care Unit. More information about our group can be found on our website.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
A Master’s or PhD in Data Science or related disciplines is a plus.
Fluency in Catalan, Spanish, and English (business level).
Experience and Knowledge:
At least 1 year of experience in health research data science and clinical data.
Experience with biomedical device data or clinical system data (e.G., HL7, FHIR, hospital databases) is highly valued.
Experience with SAP or similar management programs.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Desired Skills:
Proficiency in Python, R, or similar tools for statistical analysis and machine learning.
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
Experience with data visualization tools (e.G., Power BI, Tableau, Seaborn, Matplotlib).
Knowledge of clustering algorithms, anomaly detection, and time series analysis is an asset.
Main Responsibilities:
Design and develop data processing pipelines from infusion pump systems and clinical sources.
Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze clinical data.
Collaborate with clinical staff to interpret data and support decision-making.
Generate reports and visualizations to inform clinical practice.
Contribute to scientific publications and dissemination of results.
Work Conditions:
Part-time position:
20 hours/week.
Gross annual salary:
€14,250 (aligned with our Collective Agreement).
Contract type:
Technical and scientific activities contract linked to project activities.
