Role Summary
King’s College School, La Moraleja, one of Inspired’s flagship schools, is seeking to appoint an inspiring, collaborative, and forward-thinking Teacher of Music on a permanent basis for a late August 2025 start. The successful candidate will teach Music to pupils aged 9 to 16 (Years 6 to 11), including IGCSE exam classes.
Located in Madrid’s most exclusive neighbourhood, King’s La Moraleja is a private British school that combines academic rigour with a strong sense of community to deliver a transformative education. As Teacher of Music, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality classroom teaching while also contributing to the cultural life of the school through music showcases and enrichment opportunities. You will work alongside the Head of Performing Arts to ensure consistently excellent standards and foster a lifelong love of music in all students.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the UK National Curriculum and IGCSE (Edexcel Pearson).
- Lead on the development of music curriculum resources and department planning.
- Organise and direct music performances, either independently or collaboratively with the Drama department.
- Support high standards of teaching and learning through effective quality assurance processes.
- Provide pastoral care and support the school’s safeguarding, behaviour, and wellbeing policies.
- Teach a maximum of 24 lessons per week and participate in cover duties, cycle tests, and assemblies as needed.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular and enrichment programmes.
- At least 2 years’ experience teaching the British National Curriculum in the UK or abroad (desirable)
- Evidence of outstanding teaching and strong academic results
- Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students through innovative teaching
- A collaborative, professional mindset and willingness to engage in ongoing CPD
- Experience working with pupils with a range of learning and emotional needs
- Strong ICT skills and an ability to analyse data to drive progress

A collaborative, professional mindset and willingness to engage in ongoing CPD

Art and Design, Education and/or Teacher Training role focused on improving students’ comprehension and expression in foreign language through art. Provides language support for music and foreign language teachers, and information from the language assistant’s country in foreign language. Supports in CLIC subjects, assists students with special needs, and prepares teaching materials.
Responsibilities- Support mainly art classes in small groups, working with the teachers’ team.
- Use art activities and foreign language as powerful communicative resources to improve students’ cultural background and linguistic skills, and to broaden knowledge of realities from foreign countries.
- Contribute to everyday school life in areas such as curriculum, pedagogical matters, celebrations, workshops, visits, and related activities.
Fostering artistic activities while improving the four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing) in foreign languages. Developing an integrative approach to teaching/learning languages at school. Reinforcing plurilinguism at school. Supporting the development of the Euromania project (intercommunication through Romance languages).
OtherThe Art and Education assistant is a member of the staff with the same rights and duties and will take part in everyday school life: curriculum, pedagogical matters, celebrations, workshops, visits, and so on. The assistant will primarily support art classes in small groups, collaborating with the teachers’ team. Art activities and foreign language will become powerful communicative resources to improve students’ cultural background and linguistic skills, and to broaden knowledge of realities from foreign countries.
