Your contribution

You will join one of the battery testing laboratories with the greatest capabilities in Europe during a period of significant growth. You will work with globally recognised customers within a team supervised by the Laboratory Technical Manager.

Your work will be focused on testing lithium-ion cells, including:

  • Commissioning testing equipment, assembling test components (e.g. jigs, sensors), high-power electrical wiring and integration of instrumentation elements.
  • Drafting and strict monitoring of testing procedures and proposals for improving evaluation and testing methods.
  • Conducting battery tests for each project under strict safety and quality protocols (ISO 17025) using state-of-the-art testing equipment.
  • Programming test profiles, automating tests, processing data, and advanced interpretation of results.
  • Preparing technical reports and documentation, and presenting findings to clients.
  • Interacting and negotiating with suppliers, as well as collaborating with other departments within the organisation, including R&D technical teams, Purchasing, and Facilities.
  • Maintaining equipment and the working area in optimal conditions.

Requirements

Education:

Degree/Master's degree in a related discipline

Languages:

Fluent in spoken and written English and Spanish.

Knowledge:

The successful candidate will demonstrate a sound knowledge in:

  • Power electronics, energy storage, or a related field.
  • Over 3 years of experience in a relevant environment, such as lithium-ion testing, power electronics, semiconductors, or energy storage.
  • Experience in programming tests, standards, procedures, and report preparation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ERP/CRM systems.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Prince 2, Lean Six Sigma)
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of commitment.

Experience:

Experience working in a laboratory environment, testing centre, automotive sector, or energy storage systems.

Observations:

We are seeking a highly motivated person with an interest in research and innovation, to join a multi-disciplinary team . They must be able to organise their work and meet deadlines and targets.

Overview

Atlas Copco is looking for a new member for the Engineering Team to help accelerate the development of Energy Storage Systems, not only in the Zaragoza Factory but also providing technical support to other product companies worldwide. The Production Company of Zaragoza is the Competence Center for a new product range, Energy Storage Systems, key for the strategy of the Power and Flow Division.

The person appointed will be responsible for energy management system design and development of the projects assigned in Energy Storage Systems. They will design and participate in the industrialization process of the new products regarding the integration of electrical and electronics, their programming and controls.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop the Energy management, controls and electronic systems for energy storage products (energy management system, user interface, PLC programming, communications between different electronic systems).
  • Integration of battery and inverter systems with other energy sources (Diesel Generators, solar plants, grid and any other).
  • Test of prototypes in the lab and develop control logics and functionalities required by the market.
  • Work closely with other departments and external partners to assure and optimize the designs.
  • Cooperate during the process of industrialization of the projects.
What We Expect From You
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in similar jobs.
  • Degree in Electronics Engineering.
  • Knowledge in Energy storage, battery-inverter and energy management system.
  • Knowledge in power electronics, power generation and battery systems.
  • Knowledge in programming (PLC, HMI, JavaScript, Codesys and similar).
  • Knowledge in communication protocols (CAN Bus, ModBus and similar).

Job Description Summary

In this role you’ll / Your main responsibilities

Common accountabilities:

  • Has the required technical/functional knowledge and experience in own discipline. Knowledge of the Amadeus business and how it is related to own area.

Specific accountabilities:

Analyze specifications

  • Define user requirements for the development of new (or upgrade of existing) software solutions.

Design systems and code

  • Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
  • Develop software according to Amadeus standards.
  • Model, design and implement databases.

Test and maintain the software

  • Conduct unit, package and performance tests and ensure a level of quality in line with the Amadeus guidelines.
  • Participate in the validation phase of the product cycle, fine-tuning when necessary to finalize the product.
  • Support the customer by debugging existing solutions in collaboration with Product Manager or Product Definition Analyst.

Document your work

  • Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.

About the ideal candidate

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Previous internship or 1–3 years of experience in software development or a similar role (for junior roles, internships may suffice).

Technical Skills:

  • Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
