Overview

Location: Barcelona; City: Sant Just Desvern (Barcelona); State: Barcelona (ES-B); Country: Spain (ES). Requisition Number: 41422. Note: you are ideally located in Barcelona to obtain this job.

Bunge has an exciting opportunity for a Middle Office Analyst . In this role, you will provide daily support to the Commercial team on the operational side, including financial and position backup, translation of trading activities into a daily position and P&L report. You will serve as a central point of contact for trading operation tasks supporting trade flow verifications and accuracy of each transaction, and ensure the consistency and completeness of data flow across all involved departments and systems. You will also drive automation and efficiency improvements to current reporting processes and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Trade Administration / Trade Support (Daily Positions & P&L)
    • Produce accurate and reliable daily VC Commodity Positions & P&L reports (cash/flat activities/trades – new trades updated/reconciled with the commercial team).
    • Maintain freight position (+MTM) and reconcile against freight department/commercial team.
    • Coordinate with trading/execution/logistics teams on vessel execution and reflect impacts in Daily P&L.
    • Monitor pricing/confirmations to contracts/execution/traders and track changes for accuracy across systems.
    • Reconcile and publish the Daily Position & P&L.
    • Dispatch trade slips to contract admin when I/Co sales out of Geneva; manage interoffice futures transfers when applicable.
    • Consolidate, transform and analyze data from multiple sources to meet reporting requirements.
    • Prepare and explain daily P&L changes, including drivers of daily results.
    • Provide information, assistance and analysis to the commercial team.
    • Optimize Excel-based reports to reduce rote tasks, minimize human error and improve production speed.
    • Ad hoc reports, projects and other duties as requested.
  • Pre-Load Execution
    • Provide, monitor and check with traders/operations/contracts the consistency of any operations/contractual changes (cross-check impact).
  • Extra Costs / Bad Debt
    • Review accruals reports, extra costs and bad debts reports.
    • Follow up with commercial owners and finance departments to understand drivers/impacts of the financial P&L / reconciliation.
  • Closing the Books
    • Collect, review and confirm month-end inputs required for closing: prices, freight rates, base locations, volumes, etc.
    • Reconcile monthly results with Accounting (MTM, prices, execution, extra costs, etc.).
    • Coordinate across functions to identify and resolve gaps during month-end closing.
  • Results Analysis
    • Margin analysis to identify main buckets and drivers of the margin structure and trading component.
  • Skills & Experience
    • University degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, finance or control, preferably in the commodity trading industry.
    • Good knowledge of SAP.
    • Fluent English; other languages are an asset.
    • High proficiency in Excel.
    • Ability to solve complex problems involving non-standardized situations.
    • Strong analytical skills and business acumen with understanding of commodity trading and mark-to-market being a plus.
    • Ability to work in a team or independently and to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.

Some responsibilities of the Middle Office Analyst include:

¿Qué funciones realizarás?

  • Tramitación órdenes asesoramiento y sólo ejecución.
  • Contratación de distintos instrumentos financieros (Renta Variable, Renta Fija, Derivados Listados, Divisa, Productos Estructurados, Fondos de Inversión, Hedge Funds) para las tres licencias de la casa.
  • Control y monitorización de todo el flujo de tramitación y contratación de órdenes.
  • Contratación Private Equity.

¿Qué perfil buscamos?

  • Estudios: Graduado en Economía y/o Administración y Dirección de Empresas; o formación superior equivalente.
  • Competencias necesarias: Que esté familiarizado con la operativa de Back Office de un Departamento de Operaciones; La contratación y liquidación de los distintos instrumentos financieros (renta variable, renta fija, IICS, derivados listados, OTCs, private equity); así como los distintos tipos de cuentas / vehículos inversores (cuentas retail, fondos de inversión (España y Lux), SICAV, SIF, Unit Link).
  • Experiencia previa: Mínima de dos años en departamento de Back-Office. Se valorarán conocimientos de RD-Fronton.
  • Competencias Tecnológicas: Dominio Paquete Office (nivel alto de Excel).
  • Idiomas: Inglés hablado y escrito (B2).
