The MID Squad (consisting of 11 team members) holds the end-to-end responsibility for the mobile internet access incl. DDOS, converged mobile and fixed internet access and the business customer IPSec GW.
These platforms are part of the critical infrastructure and are central core components of our german network.
The team is responsible for the entire lifecycle and further development.
We are looking for three System Engineers to join our team for the MID IPSec platforms.
The IPSec plattform is realizing the IPSec tunnels for our business customers.
You will be working closely with our supplier and customers to design, integrate, deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot the IPSec plattform.
Activity description and concrete tasks:
- Implementation and operation of the physical Juniper MX480 system platform.
- Analysis, troubleshooting, and documentation of system malfunctions.
- Identification, documentation, and structuring of new test use cases.
- Adoption of scripts and configuration parameter within in CI/CD chain.
- Rollout management throughout the entire application lifecycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable end-to-end system functionality.
- Management of external suppliers and customers interaction during troubleshooting.
Mandatory skills:
- Expert Know-how in Juniper Router & Switching, & Junos OS preferable with certification in "Enterprise Routing and Switching Professional" (JNCIS-ENT).
- Expert Know-how in IPSec configuration, troubleshooting and debugging, preferable on Junos OS.
- Expert Know-how in routing protocols (and troubleshooting) especially: BGP, MPLS, OSPF, IPv6, QoS incl. analyzing these protocols with Wireshark and Netscout.
- Basic programming skills in scripting and programming languages (for example BASH, Python, JINJA2 etc.) und RESTful APIs).
- Experience in operation of business critical network applications according to ITILv3, preferable in a telecommunications environment.
Optional skills:

FUNCTIONS
In collaboration with your Business Information Security Officer, your main activities will be:

- Security Standards Compliance: Implement and ensure adherence to corporate security policies and frameworks such as NIST, CIS, ISO, and ENS.

Experience: 5 years of experience in the information security field and the responsibilities described above.
Technical Skills:
- Have a bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or similar degree) and higher education or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of networking security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, VPNs, Zscaler ZPA & ZIA, and encryption protocols.
- Knowledge related to Fortinet, CISCO & Palo Alto.
- Knowledge related to AWS and Azure NW Security.
Desirable but not required:

- Knowledge of security standards and frameworks (such as NIST, CIS, ISO).

- Negotiate effectively with technical teams and BISOs at the sub-regional level.
- Engage with platform owners to discuss and resolve technical issues, presenting insights from a security perspective.
- Foster a culture of security awareness and best practices within technical teams
- Identify tools and processes needed to improve the network security maturity, moving towards a zero-trust posture.
- Promote sharing of expertise through consulting, presentation, and documentation.
- Report to and advise the Business Information Security Officer.
- Undertake additional duties as needed.
Experience: 5 years of experience in the information security field and the responsibilities described above.
Technical Skills:
- Have a bachelor’s degree (Computer Science or similar degree) and higher education or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of networking security concepts, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, VPNs, Zscaler ZPA & ZIA, and encryption protocols.
- Knowledge related to Fortinet, CISCO & Palo Alto.
- Knowledge related to AWS and Azure NW Security.
Desirable but not required:
- Professional certifications including CCSP, CISSP, CISM, CISA, NSE, NIST, and PCNSE and/or other information security standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 27017, etc.).
- Experience with Identity providers (OKTA/Entra ID as highly valued).
- Experience with how other technologies intertwine with the Security ecosystem and networking: Crowdstrike, Zscaler ZPA, Defender, Intune, Jamf, Cisco Secure endpoint, MS DLP, others.
- Knowledge of security standards and frameworks (such as NIST, CIS, ISO).
- Familiarity with security auditing processes and best practices.

Languages:
- Fluent professional English proficiency (C1 or higher).
- Fluent professional proficiency (C1 or higher) in Spanish and/or other languages in the European perimeter will be valued.
