What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years as PL/SQL Developer.
• Fluent in Spanish and English.
• Strong Oracle PL/SQL and solid database skills (Oracle, PostgreSQL).

⭐Great plus if you know:

• Java / JavaScript
• GitHub, Jenkins
• Drools
• Jira, Confluence (Agile tools)
• Knowledge of microservices (Spring Boot), Openshift

The Role

InsureTech is looking for a Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer to provide programming leadership and support for application systems development and maintenance projects. In this role, you will provide strategic tools to all levels of Charles Taylor business and other clients to enable them to perform their jobs efficiently and accurately. You will be recommending, developing and implementing technology solutions to support our 100% Customer Satisfaction mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and role model the Charles Taylor six Values by ensuring a Supportive Environment, upholding Excellence in People, focusing on Partnership with Clients, delivering High quality Work, promoting Group-wide Entrepreneurship and having an Appetite for Change.
• Responsible for high-level technical specifications and detail program specifications for Data Migration.
• Responsible for database scripts development in adherence with Data Migration standards and best practices.
• Responsible for building and maintaining database pl/sql scripts.
• Responsible for unit test cases and unit testing of database scripts.
• Responsible for coding standards and programming techniques and ensure adherence by holding technical reviews.
• Support and guide junior developers in the delivery of the target solutions.
• Assist in the definition of user requirements and in the development of functional specifications.
• Provide systems design relative to functionality, architecture and databases for complex information systems.
• Provide an expert knowledge of the technical aspects of systems development, including data bases, application architecture and Oracle Database technologies.
• Provide programming and technical design task estimates and contribute to project planning activities.
• Monitor technology upgrades, corrections and new releases.Ensure that the most technically and functionally appropriate version is installed. Communicate new features and training opportunities with the business users to promote effective use of each application.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Proven commercial experience in software engineering, preferably in enterprise-scale applications, using TDD.
• 5+ years’ experience in developing applications using PL/SQL and SQL in Oracle 11g/12c environment.
• Sound development experience of packages, triggers, procedures and materialised views.
• Sound knowledge of RDBMS concepts, designing databases in Oracle 11g/12c environment.
• Experience to review and tune SQL and PL/SQL code to improve system performance.
• Good understanding of Unix or Windows scripting.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
• Preference will be given to candidates who are Oracle certified.
• Good interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Desirable – Insurance industry knowledge.
